The girl and the kingfisher

For a girl who liked pretty things,
The countryside was the place to be.
Flowers, birds, animals of all natures blings.
With beautiful adventures to do and see.
Diving, fishing, the king of the water,
Doing what a kingfisher ought to.

How beautiful was the kingfisher bird.
How beautiful it would look in my barbie world!
Chase it, catch it, take it home,
Sneak it in where no one knows.
Diving, fishing, the king of the water,
Doing what a kingfisher ought to.

Why is this kingfisher bird so sad?
Tap, tapping at the window,
Making me feel so bad.

All I wanted was a kingfisher of my own,
But all he wants to do is go home.
Diving, fishing, the king of the water,
Doing what a kingfisher ought to.

And now the moral,
Wild never stays,
You'd best take note of this worthy phrase.
Diving, fishing, the king of the water
Doing what a kingfisher ought to.
