Trapped

My names Kate and I have felt trapped ever since my 16th birthday.

Monday morning was the same every week.  The beginning of the week where I argued with my mum and slammed the door and left the house but today was completely different.

Mum was out so I had the house to myself.  I missed mum today. It has been hard for me and mum ever since my dad died. He died a tragic death. Ever since then my mum has blamed me for all our problems. Even financial problems.

I left the house for college and I linked up with my best mate Sarah.

“Heeeeey”! Sarah shouted from the other side of the road, she ran up and grabbed me in to a tight hug. I missed Sarah’s hugs over the holidays. She was the best friend anyone could possibly want “Hey, you trying to strangle me,” I asked smiling. I was so happy to see her. Sarah sang happy birthday to me just like every year and she took out a small box. She handed me the box, I opened it. There was a necklace with my name on.

We both talked and walked over to the college gates and out of know where Sarah asked “how is everything with your mum”? I didn’t know what to say so I just carried on waking in silence.

“Happy birthday kitty cat”, I turned around to find Luke standing behind me. Luke was my other best friend. I liked him from the first day I met him but Luke understood that our friendship couldn’t be anything more, not with the problems I had at home, still he was a good friend. The 3 of us walked to class together. At 3pm I received a text.

Hey honey, happy birthday come home at7pm

I have a surprise. Love Mumx

I shut my phone and rolled my eyes thinking oh she actually remembered.  I finished my work and decided to walk home even though mum wanted me home at 7pm.

I arrived at the door and bounded up the stairs. I could hear giggling. I opened Mums door and…

I ran out of the house as fast as I could. How could she? She replaced my dad for Uncle Daniel. My dad’s brother! I couldn’t think about it. It was disgusting! I ran to the lake were dad always took me. I missed dad. I wiped my tears and I took out the knife I had in my boot. It quivered in my hand as decisions over whelmed me. I raised it to my neck and felt a warm trickle…

It was dark. I couldn’t see anything. I couldn’t move. I felt trapped. I could hear voices ‘Is she okay doctor’? A breathless voice whispered. It was Moms voice. I could hear other voices too. Luke. Sarah, the people who loved me most. I tried to move my body as the light drained away.

My brain buzzed, was this the end….

Scout

One night a young girl, Aisha Khan is left alone for a night, in her country house while her parents drove out to town for a party. This was fine with Aisha, especially since she had her faithful dog, scout, to protect her through the night. She made herself something to eat and sat down at the kitchen table. Turning on the radio to her favourite station, she was surprised to hear the news declaring that a murderer was on the loose! It advised people to secure all windows and doors as a safety precaution. With her dog by her side the young girl looked spat the front and back door. She went window to window looking out each of them. She had told herself that she would be fine with her trusty dog and that her parents would be home shortly. Then Aisha decided to go to bed at 11 o'clock. She climbed the stairs to her bedroom and slid under the big warm blanket on her bed. Before closing her eyes she let the dog lick her hand. She did this every time to make her comfortable. A short while later she awoke to the sound of a scratching noise at her bedroom window. She eyed the window and reminded herself that the whole house was locked and she was safe. She stuck her hand under the bed and felt her dogs tongue gloss over the palm of her hand,
She sighed and went back to sleep. An hour later she sat up in bed...she had heard footsteps in the hallway and crept out of bed to see if it was probably her parents returning. Seeing nothing she returned to bed. As she was about to stick her hand under the bed, she heard a drip drip, followed by footsteps. She walked downstairs into the kitchen and secured the taps. That surely wasn't the cause of the drip. She crept upstairs and climbed into bed. "This is silly" she told herself, "I'm probably just imagining things." She stuck her hand under the bed and felt the dog lick her hand. An hour later she awoke again. A little mad at this point, she jumped out of bed. The dripping wasn't coming from the kitchen so it must be from the bedroom. She crept along the side of the hallway and walked into the bathroom. She groped along the side of the wall wither hand, looking for a light switch. She flicked the light on and gasped. There was scout with a pool a blood on the bathroom floor! If that was scout, what had been licking her hand all night?...

Goshawks

Dear diary,

I am writing this diary to tell you about my adventure. Well this is how my adventure began first I bought two pet goshawks which were the amount of 2600 pounds in total alone with a hunting dog. As well as that, goshawks eat pigeons, birds and other pets! This is a rare bird of prey and if you own one your eyes will be opened wider than before!
Remember, not every single person can afford a pet goshawk because they need to pay their bills and other expensive things.
You will need to get food which may cost 40-50 pounds a week and did you know when thy fly they can go at speeds of up to 240kmph! Did you know when the female or male go out to hunt, one of them must stay behind just in case another bird of prey comes and eats or kills the baby goshawks.
Goshawks can be rare at times to different hawks and eagles. If you touch them they will attack and could kill you!
I am writing to inform you how to look after goshawks. The main thing about a goshawk is that it is a bird of prey and it kills many things such as pigeons, rabbits, pheasants and other animals which is why you don't need to buy food for a goshawk!
Furthermore, when you buy a goshawk and keep it in a shed for 6 months and feed it it changes colour three times. The colours are brown, black and white. Then it turns multicoloured. As well as this the goshawk loves meat and when they are hungry they will start to make noises that mean they are hungry and when they are hungry they are more likely to attack!

Will Happiness Prevail?

A lady called Elaine was an orphan, her mother and father died when Elaine was 2. They died in an accident when they were heading home from their dinner. At 23, Elaine got married and at 26 Elaine gave birth to a girl. After Elaine gave birth she named her daughter after her mother, Natalie.

Natalie was 36 and her mother was murdered and her father died 3 years later.  One day Natalie was looking for a folder which she had misplaced, as she was searching like a lunatic, she came across a   picture. The picture was of her dead daughter.

Natalie had a flash back of how her daughter died. At the age 17 Natalie had a girl, and she named her Avery, the nurse took the baby to do some tests, 2 hours later they told Natalie that her baby died. After hearing this, Natalie was distraught, she would lock herself in her room and would listen to music all day and would not come out of her room, even when her parents would constantly lecture her about how to deal with her grief. As the days went by, she slowly got a grip and went back to study.

One afternoon, someone knocked on the door, and when Natalie opened the door, there was a girl.

“Hi, may I help”, stammered Natalie.

“Mum, it’s me, you’re daughter”, cried the girl.

“What, what are you talking about? My daughter’s dead she died the moment she was born, don’t talk nonsense, and go”, shouted Natalie.

“I know that is what the nurse said to you but when you left the hospital in the morning on that same afternoon I gained conscious, however they kept me in the hospital for a week to make sure that I was fine and that they would inform you to take me home, but they said you moved houses- and put me into care”, cried the girl.

“I don’t believe you… but, come in”, whispered Natalie.

“No, how can you still believe that I’m not you’re daughter, if I wasn’t you’re daughter would I come to you. Forget it, I knew I should not have come here after looking for you for years, forget it ok”, she cried. The girl ran away and then a lady came in front of Natalie and said “whatever that girl is saying is the truth, here is her birth certificate, see her name is Avery just like you named her”.

Then Natalie knew what the girl said was true, and then she hurried after her and saw her getting on a train going to another city. Then Natalie heard two men saying that the train had a bomb and it is going to explode in 10 secs.

“Oh gosh, the train has a... AVERY GET OFF!! THE TRAIN HAS A BOMB”!!

BANG!!

 “AVERY”!!!

The train had exploded and everyone had died; Natalie never got to say sorry to her long lost daughter, Avery. She never heard the word- ‘MUM’!!

Abandoned child

My parents abandoned me when I was 9 and I was sent to the orphanage; what a terrible place. At midnight, you could hear other children crying and throwing a tantrum about why they were here. Some children would want someone to adopt them, but I don't.

The next morning, I woke up late and thought about my life and what would happen to me.
"Evie, Evie! Wake up child it is time for breakfast!"
That's me, Evie Brown, and that was Samantha Pucket, the nurse that looks after me. She took out my clothes and laid them on my bed, as she left the room, I got up and looked at myself in the mirror and then I touched my long brown hair and looked at my hazel coloured eyes while I got dressed.
As I walked down to the hall, I saw my friend, Hilda May, I was fond of Hilda, she was always nice to me unlike the other children.
We greeted each other and went to the hall, we found seats and sat down. I looked at my plate and sighed, it was last weeks shepherds pie.
With the sight of this, I skipped breakfast and went to see Gladis Harmondale, she was the lady who filed the reports and saw who was going to be adopted. She gave me a friendly smile and waved, I asked her if anyone was going to get adopted. To my surprise, it was Julian Hessenheffer, the boy who would call me names and make faces at me. Who in the world would want to adopt him?
After, I went to the gardens and thought to myself if I would get adopted, but no, I didn't want to, not after when my parents thought I was a disgrace to the family and that was the reason I ended up here. Whenever I think about this I feel neglected and that I don't belong anywhere and also that I will end up alone with no one to look after me.
Later, I heard a nice family talking about adopting, a minute later they saw me and asked if I was adopted and I replied no. They smiled and walked into the orphanage.
It was a long day and I went back inside and had a glass of milk, after that I went to bed and said my prayers.
The next morning, I was told to see Gladis and wasn't told why. When I walked inside I saw that family smiling and I realised I was going to be adopted!
I was kind of shocked and ran to my room. I knew that I needed a fresh start and this was my chance. I said my goodbyes and left with the family.

I guess everyone needs a fresh start...

The doggy adventure

Choco the chocolate Labrador gazed dreamfully across the grassy field, watching the prettiest dog he had seen. "Wow, she's a beauty!" Choco exclaimed. She was a black Labrador and he had just met her yesterday, during the beautiful sunset. Unfortunately Choco had never had the courage to ask her; her name... Eventually he puffed out his chest and went to talk to her.
"Hello, my name's Choco, what's yours?" Choco asked curiously.
"Oh hello, my name is Belle, erm... Do you want to be my friend?" The girl dog asked shyly.
Quickly Choco blurted out, "of course!" Then he muttered "I want to be more than a friend." Luckily Belle didn't hear this comment...

***

A few hours later the pair had realised that they had a lot in common. Later that day, when they were getting ready for bed, in the soft moss, they had a significant chat. "I think we should see how the two weeks go and start searching for a home!" Began Belle with a serious look on her face. "I agree and maybe we could settle down together?" Choco suggested confidently. "Maybe..." Belle answered, quite unsure.

The next morning they washed, cleaned, cooked and they were finally groomed. Choco wore a lovely bow tie and Belle was wearing a stylish bow in her hair.

***

The two weeks flew by and soon they were packed and ready to set off on their journey. They had packed:
- water bottles
- food
- soft moss beds
- brushes
- ties
- blankets
- bows
- ties
- climbing gear
- combs

And many more. "These shall keep us safe on our journey," mentioned Choco as he leaped over a fallen tree trunk. "It sure will," Belle answered.

***

Jumping over a log, Choco dropped to the ground. He struggled to catch his breath, they had been walking for hours. The two days sat down and decided to find shelter. Soon they had found a cave and fire wood. Consequently they made a fire, some food and they set up camp.

After they had eaten they went to bed, not knowing that they were sleeping in a bears cave. So early in the morning when the bear got home the dogs go an unexpected surprise... "Roar!" Growled the bear, both dogs woke up with a start, they spotted the near and ran! They ran and ran until they could run no more. Finally when they stopped they looked behind them to see no bears. Therefore they decided to carry on through the dark wood...

After a few minutes, they could see houses and then they realised they had made it home! So they went to Belle's owners house and scratched on the door. When the door opened there was a little girl, "Belle, there you are!" The girl said happily. "Yes," barked Belle. "Who is that with you?" The girl asked curiously. There was no reply...

***

A year later Belle and Choco had puppies. They were called Scamp, Angel, Cotton and Lucky. They were all very happy together.

The girl and the kingfisher

For a girl who liked pretty things,
The countryside was the place to be.
Flowers, birds, animals of all natures blings.
With beautiful adventures to do and see.
Diving, fishing, the king of the water,
Doing what a kingfisher ought to.

How beautiful was the kingfisher bird.
How beautiful it would look in my barbie world!
Chase it, catch it, take it home,
Sneak it in where no one knows.
Diving, fishing, the king of the water,
Doing what a kingfisher ought to.

Why is this kingfisher bird so sad?
Tap, tapping at the window,
Making me feel so bad.

All I wanted was a kingfisher of my own,
But all he wants to do is go home.
Diving, fishing, the king of the water,
Doing what a kingfisher ought to.

And now the moral,
Wild never stays,
You'd best take note of this worthy phrase.
Diving, fishing, the king of the water
Doing what a kingfisher ought to.
