Symphony Hall

I enjoyed going to the Symphony Hall! Today was amazing, we all went quiet when the orchestra was playing. The man who was introducing himself to us was incredible!

When I stepped inside it was really big! There were loads of primary and secondary schools there and it was awesome! I loved listening to them play and the primary schools who sang there were brilliant. I have learnt a lot about musicians. 

There were lots of people there and I think we looked incredible because our ties were all done up and our shirts were all tucked in!

I really enjoyed my afternoon there, I'd love to go back again!

Symphony Hall

Today was a really fun day! We went to the Symphony Hall to listen to famous pieces of music that had been created throughout Birmingham's history. When I first thought of it I thought it was going to be boring but then I realised to not judge a book by it's cover. When I first stepped into the Symphony Hall Orchestra I was completely dazzled by the hall. It was enormous! I was also shocked to see so many instruments, like; a harp; a big bass drum and an oboe. To be honest I've only heard of these instruments, I've never seen so many unique instruments. After a while when the musicians finished tuning their instrument they began to playa dull, gloomy piece of music which I kind of enjoyed.

The conductors were guiding the musicians beautifully to make a lovely piece of music which I am sure the schools enjoyed. The orchestra played several pieces of music which was explained to us so we knew when it was made and where they got their inspiration from. 

My favourite piece was the World War II Spitfire. 

I would like to thank Mrs Derrick and the members of staff for taking the time to organise this.

Symphony Hall

Today was the day we went to theSymphony Hall. It was really cool because  a man was talking before and after the orchestra played. I really enjoyed it. It was really peaceful. The man who talked was funny at times. The conductor was the most important person, otherwise they would all be playing the wrong notes! When the conductor was conducting he was kind of dancing a little. For a second, I wondered whether he was just having fun or whether all conductors do that? Each school sang two songs each. They were  actually good singers! 

Thanks to Mrs Derrick for making this possible! It was incredible!

Symphony Hall

Today I went to the Symphony Hall and I saw a lot of singing and dancing.

It was really fun and interesting. I saw a lot of new instruments. The noise the instruments were making was incredible and beautiful, it was really extraordinary.

I learnt how much small instruments can make such a big noise. It was really extraordinary. I was like nothing I've ever seen in my life!

Symphony Hall

Today was an amazing day, we all went quiet and the orchestra started to play! The man that was introducing us to the orchestra told us about Birmingham's history. There were lots more other schools and they were enjoying it too. They were also children singing with the orchestra and they were really formal. There were different conductors and they were conducting different music, it was extraordinary! 

Thank you Mrs Derrick for the trip, I learnt a lot about the orchestra and saw lots of different instruments.

Trip to the Symphony Hall

Dear Diary,

Today all of year 7 went to the Symphony Hall! It was raining and I thought it was going to be boring but it turned out to be pretty good! It is good that Mrs Derrick organised it because I liked it a lot!

Watoto Choir Trip

Aston Manor Academy took year 7 to go and watch the Watoto Choir perform at the Mount Zion Church recently. The pupils' got a lot from the experience and loved watching the peroformances and hearing the stories the choir had to tell.
